Curriculum for Life
Reaching together... stand firm in your faith, be courageous and strong - 1 Corinthians 16:13
Reaching Together to achieve our vision:
To provide a caring, Christian ethos for the school, which inspires and excites a shared enthusiasm for life and learning. This means growing in body, mind and spirit in order to flourish and experience the joy and hope of, ‘life in all its fullness’ (John 10v10)
Reaching Together to achieve our mission:
Through our strong Christian ethos and focus on twelve important Christian values, we are committed to providing a deeply nourishing, spiritual, ambitious and broad curriculum. Our motto, ‘Reaching together’ underpins our belief in equality of opportunity for all, where we actively endeavour to promote understanding and appreciation of our racially diverse society and give each child a special place in the world where they feel valued, essential to our community and equipped with the necessary skills to make a positive contribution. We perceive our role to be opening a ‘window on the world’, through which our pupils are actively encouraged to care for all God’s creations and to develop respect for the beliefs and cultures which enrich their everyday lives and encourage others to do likewise. We strive to eliminate inequality through our deep Christian ethos of tolerance and understanding of all groups in society, which ensures that everyone at Ivington will be treated fairly despite his or her creed, colour, disability or gender.
We ‘Start children off on the way they should go … ’through inspiring everyone to:
LOVE Jesus and each other, APPRECIATE themselves and the gifts they have been given, ACHIEVE their full potential ...‘so even when they are older they will not turn from it’ - Proverbs 22:
Key Stones, Aims and Christian Values
Stand firm in your faith, be courageous and strong - 1 Corinthians 16:13
At Ivington Church of England Primary and Pre-school, we embrace five KEY STONES which enable us to aim towards living out our vision and mission. We aim to develop Practical Wisdom through twelve key Christian Values in both our children and our adults, in order to let our lights shine through our window to the world and ensure human flourishing.
Reaching Together to achieve our aims:
The schools values seek to underpin the Christian belief that we are all God’s people and that we all matter. These values ae at the heart of everything we do and run through our whole ethos, curriculum and school life to ensure pupils leave Ivington Church of England Primary and Pre-School as happy, secure, caring and responsible citizens.
