Statement of Entitlement

At Ivington CE Primary School, our Christian vision and values underpin all aspects of school life. Through Religious Education, we seek to enable every child to flourish and live life in all its fullness, developing the knowledge, understanding and character needed to become thoughtful, compassionate and responsible members of society.

Rooted in the Fruit of the Spirit, we encourage our pupils to grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. These values shape both our learning and our relationships and help children reflect on how beliefs influence actions and choices.

As a Church of England school, Christianity lies at the heart of our Religious Education curriculum. Pupils develop an understanding of Christianity as a living and diverse global faith whilst also learning about a range of religions and worldviews. Through enquiry, discussion and reflection, children explore life's big questions about meaning, purpose, identity and belonging.

Our Religious Education curriculum enables pupils to:

  • Develop a deep understanding of Christianity and other religions and worldviews.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and think critically about faith and belief.
  • Reflect on their own values and experiences.
  • Show respect, understanding and generosity towards those who hold different beliefs.
  • Live out the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily lives and relationships.
  • Become religiously literate citizens who can contribute positively to a diverse society.

Through Religious Education, we aim to nurture confident learners who demonstrate love and kindness, seek peace and justice, show patience and self-control, and make a positive difference in God's world.
