Funding and Fees

We accept children eligible for government funding. We do not charge any additional 'top up fees' or ask for 'voluntary contributions'.

So what is funded childcare ?

All parents of 3 & 4-year-olds are entitled to up to 15 universal funded hours per week, the term after their child's third birthday (15 hours TERM TIME). The universal funding does not need to be applied for and will be applied upon completion by the local authority.

Parents who are in receipt of certain benefits may also be eligible to apply for funding for 2-year-olds. More information about the 2-year funding is available at https://www.herefordshire.gov.uk/family-support/free-early-education-childcare/2.

30 hours childcare for eligible working families in England

In England, many families can benefit from up to 30 hours of funded childcare each week, for 38 weeks a year (15 universal & 15 extended). 30 hours is for a maximum of 38 weeks per year (Term-time). It works in a similar way to school term times. This starts from the term after your child turns 9 months old and continues until they start school, provided you meet the eligibility criteria.

How do I apply for the 9 months + working families funding, and is there any other help available towards the cost of childcare?

You can apply for the working families funding scheme by clicking on the following link https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare.

You can find more information regarding help towards the cost of childcare at https://www.childcarechoices.gov.uk/. This gives detailed information about other schemes: the Tax-free childcare scheme and universal credit for childcare.
