Reaching together... stand firm in your faith, be courageous and strong - 1 Corinthians 16:13

Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Ivington Church of England Primary and Pre-school and thank you for your interest in our school!

We pride ourselves on the quality of the relationships between children, parents and staff. It is these positive relationships that help to nurture the children as they develop as learners.

Situated two miles from the market town of Leominster, opposite the Church of St John, our school is part of a rich rural environment overlooking orchards and meadows. Our buildings are a mixture of original Victorian and modern extensions and are part of the village of Ivington with which we are proud to have close links.

The school has up to 120 children on roll, aged 4 to 11, from the village, its surroundings and the town of Leominster. As a small church school, we pride ourselves on our family atmosphere and strong home/school links. We give children and their families a wonderful start in life. We are a happy school and successfully create an environment where education becomes a lifelong adventure, where children are valued as individuals and their every success is celebrated and where we strongly adhere to inclusive Christian Values.

The Pre-school is very much part of the school family and welcomes children aged from 2-4 years. It is run by an extremely experienced and dedicated early years professional. Its close links with the school ensure a smooth transition into Reception class.

We deliver a well-researched curriculum by an experienced staff of highly committed teachers. In addition to gaining language, mathematical, scientific and technological skills, we aim that your child will build confidence, develop self-reliance, learn to make decisions and develop the ability to articulate feelings and ideas. We also attach great importance to the development of children’s social skills and seek to enable them to build relationships with other children and adults and be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others.

We provide a caring, Christian ethos, which inspires a shared enthusiasm for life and learning. We welcome all children, seeking to recognise the potential in each child. We will help them to prepare for their future lives by enabling them to develop as confident, rounded individuals with an enthusiasm for life-long learning. We aim to equip our pupils to cope with the demands of modern life, confident in who they are and what they believe.

Childhood is a very special time and we will do our very best to make it as happy and productive as possible.

I very much hope that you will enjoy browsing our website and seeing the exciting opportunities our school has to offer you and your children, but there is so much more… do come and visit. I look forward to welcoming you to our school soon.

Best wishes

Mrs M. Smith
