Homework is widely accepted as an essential and valuable element of learning. A good, well organised homework programme helps children and young people to develop the skills and attitudes they will need for successful, independent life long learning.
At Ivington, we believe that homework builds upon what has happened in the classroom. The interest of parents in ensuring that homework is done properly, neatly and on time is essential.
It is clearly imperative that children attend school every day and arrive fully prepared to face a full day’s work, having enjoyed a reasonable night’s sleep. Therefore, careful organisation of time outside school is necessary. We have carefully considered the purpose of homework, and the homework diary used at KS2 provides a channel of communication regarding this vital work.
