Green level books have varied and longer sentences with little or no repetition of phrases. Stories have a wider variety of characters and events which develop over a number of pages. Sentences may include lists of things or actions, and adverbs are used to begin sentences. They may have larger number of words on page. In non-fiction texts less familiar or specialised vocabulary used and illustrations may provide only moderate support for the text.
