Here at Ivington CE Primary School, we are committed to promoting and ensuring equality of opportunity of all and we recognise that children are living in a technological age. We see computing as an important tool to help bring our children’s learning to life and we endeavor to make children familiar with the wide range of ICT that surrounds them. We aim to enable all children to tackle all applications with confidence, developing and applying practical skills and gaining sense of achievement. Within school, each child’s Computing capability is developed through embedding ICT skills and promoting knowledge and understanding through both stand alone lessons and cross curricular work.
We have enjoyed exciting developments in the ICT provision in our school in recent years. In particular our new set of iPads now enables instant access to both the internet and relevant teaching and learning apps. The use of these, combined with our ongoing use of PC laptops, means that children are familiar with the most common ICT resources. All classrooms and the hall have a fully installed interactive whiteboard with their own dedicated laptop; a DVD/ video player and visualiser are also available to use. These resources combined create extremely effective and stimulating teaching environments in each learning space.
